Always On Solar™ is a partnership between Puget Sound area (Washington State) Rotary clubs, the Northwest Solar Group, International NGOs and rural communities in developing countries. Our projects use solar energy to improve living conditions and promote clean, independent and sustainable power sources to meet community energy needs.

Always On Solar™ is dedicated to the successful implementation of sustainable projects. In addition to technical support in project design and installation, Always On Solar™ fosters community education, while building local capacity.

Projects are selected by Always On Solar™ from applications submitted by community groups interested in a solar project.

Upon selection of an applicant, an initial planning and assessment meeting takes place on site between Always On Solar™ technicians, Rotary members and the applicant community. A feasibility study is conducted and the viability and appropriateness of the project is assessed.

Always On Solar™ assists in the design of the system and facilitates fundraising within the applicant community, Rotary Clubs, and partnering organizations.

Always On and Rotary volunteers work together with community members to implement the project. A team from Always On Solar™ provides the training needed to assure long term sustainability of the solar project.

To ensure project sustainability and promote the growth of jobs and a local solar industry, Always On Solar™ provides extensive technical training classes to local technicians, community members and school groups. Classes focus on electrical basics, the installation and maintenance of solar energy systems and small business development.
